The HSTM Network Ireland seeks to foster research, teaching and public engagement in the history of science, technology and medicine in Ireland. The network brings together researchers residing on the island of Ireland who are interested in these subjects regardless of whether they study Ireland or another place. We also welcome members residing abroad who are interested in the HSTM of Ireland.
We aim to raise the profile of the history of science, technology and medicine on the island of Ireland and to link Irish researchers to the international community of scholars.
The Network’s present and future activities include an annual conference, promoting awareness of archival sources for HSTM on the island, advocating HSTM as a subject at all levels of education, supporting and developing public events with an HSTM element and producing an accessible bibliography of works on the HSTM of Ireland.
