PhD Opportunity: the history of colonial healthcare in Congo from an environmental perspective (ca. 1900 – 1960)

For the Cultural History since 1750 Research Group at the University of Leuven (Belgium) and the research program Maastricht University – Science, Technology and Society (the Netherlands), we are looking for a doctoral student who will investigate the history of colonial healthcare in Congo from an environmental perspective (ca. 1900 – 1960). The research will be supervised by prof. dr. Kaat Wils and prof. dr. Raf de Bont.

The project is part of the Global PhD Program between KU Leuven and Maastricht University and will result in a Double Doctoral Diploma. The PhD candidate will work two years at KU Leuven and two years in Maastricht, under the joint supervision of Kaat Wils and Raf De Bont.
